So I basically I had to go invest in every single Internet marketing product I could find and try to figure out what would work for our industry and what wouldn't.

And this was a HUGE process because most of these products were geared towards info marketers, online store owners and get-rich-quick schemes… they weren't meant for guys like me and you at all…

And the products weren't cheap.

I spent my entire savings and maxed out my credit cards on everything I could get my hands on.

I joined an Internet marketing membership group that cost me $9,564.00 per year and a mastermind group that cost me $4,632.00 per year.

I hired a sales coach who charges $15,000.00 PER DAY and a marketing coach who charged me $500.00 per hour and another $500.00 per month for email access to him.

If I wanted to still train people I could… but it would be on MY terms…. which would probably be something like a few hours a day… a few days a week…. like Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to two or something…

However, since I love ALL THE FREEDOM my business gives me, and I really love spending time just hanging out with my friends and family, watching cool movies and cruising around on my Harley… I've decided to let other trainers do all the training for me for now.

Luckily my business runs 100% independently of me, which is really cool because I often take 2 - 6 week vacations and not only does my business not slow down when I'm gone, but it actually grows.

Now here's where it starts to get pretty weird…

Consider Where I At Was When I Started
All This Internet Marketing Stuff

- I barely knew how to use a computer…  in fact I had only just gotten my first computer about a year earlier.

1. You need a website that converts a high percentage of traffic for you into either leads, appointments or paying clients.

To do this you're gonna wanna do things like use the right colors, use strong copy, show tons of proof that your product or service works, and systematically take your visitors down a greased slide from the second they hit your site until they take the desired action YOU want them to take.

You're gonna wanna use powerful persuasion tactics in a way that gets massive amounts of people to do exactly what you want them to do.

A few ways to increase your conversions are:

- Using good direct response salescopy

- Displaying TONS of the right kind of social proof

- Systematically improving your site's usability

2. You need to use multimedia - You wanna combine the power of video along with the power of the written word to create a combined effect that literally drives your visitor into a buying frenzy.

You see, different people absorb information in different ways.

You need to communicate using multiple channels to make sure that your visitors emotional activators are triggered.

So you'll wanna start by using high powered "video salesletters"

And by the way, I've found one of the best video salesletter formats to be

• State the problem
• Agitate the problem
• Position your product or service as THE solution to the problem
• Give TONS of social proof
• Use a strong call to action

(That simple formula has worked wonders in my personal training business and has made me tens of thousands of dollars)

3. You need to get a lot of highly targeted and responsive traffic - You wanna get your site to the top of the search engines and do it in a way that gives you the greatest chance of "gettin' the click" from your target market.

A few ways to get high in the search engines are:

• Create a site that is extremely valuable to your visitor
• Make your site big with lots of unique content and high quality pages
• Use your keyword phrases within the content and within the internal linking of your own site
• Get links from as many other high quality sites in your niche as you can and make sure your main keyword phrases are in as many of those links as possible
• Make sure the code on your site is clean and search engine friendly

And on top of getting "free" search engine traffic you want your ads to come up high in the right Pay-Per-Click listings as well, WITHOUT it costing an arm and a leg to do it.

And your gonna wanna know where to spend your time and efforts in the social media and networking sites and where NOT to spend your time and energy (A huge mistake most fitness business owners make is using the wrong strategies on the wrong social media sites… this can turn into a HUGE time waster)

4. You need to build relationships - Today on the web people are more skeptical than ever… they've been lied to and ripped off so many times that if you drive them to a website that is full of hype you're gonna drive them away fast.

People want to build relationships with the people they're buying from. They want to have a bond and connection and feel like they're entering into a win/win relationship with you…

People LOVE to buy but they DON'T wanna be sold to… there's a fine line to this you must learn to walk when marketing online.

Create the right kinds of relationships on the Internet and not only will your site come up high in the search engines but you'll also get a lot of targeted traffic from other sites and you'll make a lot more money.

5. Keep this one thing in mind whenever you do anything on the Internet…

"How can I add as much value to the web and as much value to my visitor as possible?"

Do that and you cannot fail.

Ignore it and you're doomed.

So that's a few of the major steps it takes to successfully market your business online… There's more to it than just that… but the fact that you know these pieces of the puzzle puts you ahead of 99 out of 100 other trainers and fitness business owners out there…

… It's Not Your Fault

The fitness industry is a fairly new industry, and personal training and fitness coaching only really date back about a quarter of a century or so…

Most of the people who owned small fitness businesses before you and I did had NO IDEA in the world how to grow a business that automatically brings in a lot of money and doesn't require a lot of time.

Sure, a few got lucky because they were tapped into the celebrity community or something, but their success was pretty much a lucky roll of the dice and they definitely didn't have any kind of a replicatable system that could run on autopilot.

Actually for along time I didn't share this stuff with ANYONE… not even my best friend.
